What is eczema?

What does eczema look like?
The appearance of eczema depends on several factors such as the type of eczema, its severity and a person’s skin tone. In general, skin affected by eczema is dry and rough. In severe cases, it may ooze or be bloody from scratching. Rashes may appear brown, purple or dark red in patients with darker skin tones and pink or red in patients with lighter skin tones.
